Professor, Centre for Distance Education
Patrick J. Fahy is a Professor, Centre for Distance Education, Athabasca University. He holds degrees from the University of Minnesota (BSc), and the University of Alberta (MEd, PhD). He has been a teacher for over 41 years, has worked in the private sector, and is former president of the Alberta Distance Education and Training Association, the Movement for Canadian Literacy, and the Alberta Association for Adult Literacy. He consults with private and public organizations throughout Canada and the USA. Pat has four sons and two grandsons, and has lived in Edmonton with his wife Sharon since 1971.
Pat’s published research interests have included online interaction analysis, technology for education and training, student follow-up, programming in rural and remote areas of Canada, and program development for adults. He was one of the developers of Athabasca University’s first doctoral program, the EdD in distance education.
