Kam specialises in project management research. She is the successful recipient of two Standard Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) grants (2006-2008, 2009-2011). Kam's research program spans such topics as project management as a source of competitive advantage, project success and failure, lessons learned, project tools and techniques, and communities of practice. Her current study is on knowledge networks in project management. The federal grants enable her to support graduate student training and development. Kam is also a member of SSHRC's Insight Grant review committee (2012).
